  • Dear EA Sports Support Team,

I am writing to share feedback regarding the Team of the Year (TOTY) promotion, overall gameplay experience, and transparency around pack weight in EA Sports FC.

Over the past two years, I have consistently saved and opened a significant number of high-value packs during the TOTY event. Despite this level of engagement and time investment, I have only been able to pack a single TOTY player. While I understand that rare items are meant to be difficult to obtain, the current system makes it very difficult to gauge realistic expectations as a player.

In addition to pack odds, I would also like to raise concerns about server performance and gameplay consistency. Issues such as input delay, inconsistent responsiveness, and connection-related gameplay differences can heavily impact competitive matches and overall enjoyment of the game. These problems are especially noticeable during peak hours and major promotional events.

Another concern is how far TOTY cards sit above the general power curve, particularly with multiple PlayStyles+ and significantly boosted attributes. While these cards should feel special, the gap between TOTY items and standard or SBC-accessible players can make the experience feel increasingly pay-to-win, especially in competitive modes where team quality can outweigh player skill.

I truly enjoy EA Sports FC and the FUT mode, which is why I care enough to raise these points. Greater transparency around pack probabilities, continued improvements to server stability, and a more balanced approach to the power curve would go a long way toward strengthening player trust and long-term engagement.

Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. I appreciate any consideration you can give to improving transparency and the overall playing

  • Did TOTY feel exciting and rewarding this year?

Nope it wasn’t, it would be exciting if I can pack anything so I can try it out but thats a reach and a far one. I’ve been pack grind for four weeks just to see the same old Gold cards with no promo insight. What’s the point of all these promos if some of us will never pack any of them but yet we bought the game and put in as much time as all the other people who seem to pack one left and right. My TOTY experience was just me looking at the cards when I open UT.

Overall  TOTY was extremely disappointing for a lot of players.

    1. TOTY cards were next to impossible to pack for a lot of people unless spending sometimes hundreds if not thousands. Even the HM cards were almsot impossible to pack from rewards or sbc packs, and no offence but they weren't even that good.
    2. SBC content was far too expensive for the average FC player, not to mention the fact that a lot of the high rated players needed were some form of promo card. I managed 1 icon sbc throughout the promo, and I had to be picky about which one because I knew they were all expensive and I wouldn't get the fodder needed.
    3. The objectives were mostly good and rewarding, but you could of done with less live events that lasted a bit longer for people who weren't able to play for a couple of days.
    4. If you pay attention to anything FC online it's next to impossible to miss leaks and what is coming out, so it's always clear what is coming, but occasionally the when can get confusing.
    5. Because of said leaks most of your content isn't exciting, people have days if not a week to prepare for what is coming.
    6. Evos were fairly decent, but the stat caps for an 88 rated card and so on seemed a bit low, especially around pace for this time of the year.

Respectfully, it was far off of being something to be excited about, most days were just spent seeing nothing in packs and seeing a new sbc that you can't afford. If it wasn't for the fact I got one TOTY and 1 TOTY icon, I would have been quitting the game and deleting it. I get that there are reasons you have to push for people to use the store, but without the correct balance you are just pushing players away from the game.

  • Honestly the least I engaged with TOTY in all my years playing. But it is worth pointing out that may be in part due to an increasing apathy towards the game.

The issue with TOTY this year is no matter the content you threw out it felt no different to the rest of the game cycle this year. Just different cards but an incredibly repetitive feeling to everything else. TOTY should feel special, boost rewards for the two weeks or more interesting tournaments and objectives. Instead we got a few evos, some large objectives that just made you play the same modes as normal and then some SBC players we have all seen before.

In my opinion TOTY kind of doesn't sit in the game well anymore, not in current form. It brings very high rated cards (for the few who pack them) quite early in the game cycle and leads to difficulty keeping up if you didn't obtain any until TOTS.

If I could bring one change to it, it would be to make TOTY cards  'Live'.  Start them at a similar level to the current top cards, maybe give them icon chemistry as a bonus and then have them increase in line with future promos until Futties when they end at 99 rated with whatever you do with playstyles etc.

  • Did TOTY feel exciting and rewarding this year? Why or why not?

I don’t even have that much of a problem with the TOTY pack weight; these cards should definitely be rare. But you guys have ruined that 'special' feeling... When I packed TOTY Kevin De Bruyne in FIFA 19, that card stayed in my squad until the end of the game cycle—even without any Roles, PlayStyles, etc. Right now, I have three TOTYs in my team (Bacha, Rice, Donnarumma) and I honestly think none of them will be in my starting XI in two months. Rice with only 5 silver PlayStyles? Bacha’s roles and PlayStyles? Donnarumma might barely last until TOTS...

Was it clear what content was coming and when?

Yeah, the content was pretty predictable. Leakers revealed exactly what was coming and when, so there was no element of surprise at all.

How did you feel about the daily content during the event?

Cool idea with the live events and the variety of modes (fantasy cup, tournaments, etc.). It’s just a shame it was such an absolute nightmare because I’m a PC player. Constant input delay—the only temporary fix was dropping my resolution to a terrible 1366x768, and even then, the problem kept coming back. You’ve completely ruined the experience for me. I couldn't even play FUT Champions because of it. Regarding pack rewards, all I’ll say is that I probably have enough SBC In-forms to last me until the end of the game cycle. It’s frustrating that hours of grinding yield worse rewards than a single 1500 FP pack.

Did the objectives, SBCs, and Evos feel worth your time?

Yeah, I did the objectives, but the SBCs were completely out of touch with the current state of the game. Messi requiring eight 89-rated squads? Especially when 90-rated cards were only packable during the full TOTY release (like Bellingham and Rodri), and even 89s were super scarce. I had a massive pile of 83, 84, and 85-rated duplicates just sitting in my storage with nowhere to put them, so I just kept spamming the TOTW upgrades—I have over 50 In-Forms packs in my club now. I also really regret that we didn't get any serious, unlimited repeatable SBCs like an 82x25 or 83x10. Being a Barça fan, I grinded about 1,000 La Liga League SBCs, yet my best pull was only 90 Bellingham... Also, it's a shame we didn't see some cool Flashbacks like a Thiago Silva or Manuel Neuer.

If you could change one thing about FC 26 TOTY, what would it be?

Either you actually buff TOTY cards so they are viable until the end of the game, or you keep them as they are—lasting only a month—but increase the pack weight. In its current state, TOTY doesn't make much sense. People only return for this event out of nostalgia nowadays.

  • No, I haven't had any fun. I spend a ton of time in the game, completing quests and getting nothing for it. I got two promo cards in the winter wildcards promo.  In Team of the Year one nominee. Seriously? When there are unsellable cards, and some are even unplayable, the game can't show the player a blue walkout?

Last year, I had two Toti Idols and a goalkeeper named Berger, and a bunch of nominees. This year, I only have Marquinhos with an 81 speed in January.

Meanwhile, since the game's release, I've been experiencing constant frame rate drops upon launch, sometimes even during online matches, and due to micro-freezes introduced with some fall patch, I have to play at the lowest resolution. If it weren't for our online tournaments with friends on the forum, I would have quit your game already.

    • Did TOTY feel exciting and rewarding this year? Why or why not?

It had hype but wasn't very exciting. It wasn't rewarding because despite the massive amounts of fodder. I didn't pack anything of use or value. It took way too much time for way too little reward. I didn't even pack a Honorable Mention. I barely netted a 100k menu grinding. That's like the rewards for a single high end champs/rivals. I started way too late, so I've been chasing the power curve the whole time. TOTY and this new Future Stars Promo have blown up the power curve for anyone with money. All I face is TOTYS, HMs, and Icons. My team value is barely half a million still. I face teams with 5-10+ million in cards daily now.
    • Was it clear what content was coming and when?
Not really. Why release a bunch of SBCs when people are doing the EVOs on the same players.
    • How did you feel about the daily content during the event?

The EVOs were okay but very underwhelming. My TOTY EVO just got blown away by Future Stars.
    • Did the objectives, SBCs, and Evos feel worth your time?

No. The SBCs are way too expensive. Even doing ALL the objectives, I barely had the fodder for three SBCs. Then you turned around and pumped out new cards that are just as good for way cheaper. I shouldn't have done the defender SBCs and just done the Wilson SBC.
Gabriel does the job. Frimpong sucks as a defender still. De Ligt is just meh average. Also why does De Ligt get two Playstyle+s while Gabriel got one??? I just bought two Future Stars Defenders off the market for discard price that have just as good if not better stats than De Ligt and Gabriel.
    • If you could change one thing about FC 26 TOTY, what would it be?

I refuse to spend money on this game aside from buying it, so honestly I don't care because that's all you care about; and every anecdote and streamer basically showed you have to buy packs with FC points to 'be good' at this game by getting the expensive cards. So if I had to change one thing, it would be implement an actual MMR/ELO matchmaking system weighted by Market Team Value and show us our rank change per game. Get rid of Rivals and Champs. Go back to Divisions. Make it 15 games weekly to maintain Division rank. Then do one monthly Division Tournament. I'm tired of playing Elite tier teams with a D5 team because that's all i can afford.

Oh yeah, the card designs for TOTY were all lame.
