FEEDBACK | Offline Gameplay vs. CPU - Fouls

This is partial feedback, but it's absolutely essential for a more realistic reproduction of football.

Realistic gameplay finally offers a more measured and, in some ways, tactical pace, with a more active CPU in defense and proactive in attack.

Unfortunately, we must highlight a longstanding issue with the series: fouls committed by the CPU.

In the past, additions have led to some tackles from behind, resulting in red cards, that were completely unrelated to the dynamics of real football. Even the new cursor, introduced with FC25, hasn't been able to faithfully replicate what happens on a pitch: hard tackles in midfield (not sliding tackles from behind) and fouls on the edge of the penalty area, which greatly influence the outcome of real matches. This, for me, is currently a major gap in realistic gameplay against the CPU.

On average, in a UEFA Champions League match, there are between 8 and 15 fouls per game.

Sorry for my english😇

  • Hey everyone,

I grouped your reports about the lack of fouls in offline game modes in this thread to let you know we have passed on the feedback to our teams.

    Dear EA Staff,

First of all, I want to congratulate you on the idea of separating authentic gameplay from competitive gameplay. Well done!

I'm an offline player who plays against the CPU with real teams. I'm a Konami fan, but this year I chose EA because of the authentic gameplay, which I think is well done.

I play at Champion/Legend level with realistic EA sliders and tactical cursors, 8/10 minutes each time.

There's a huge problem with gameplay: fouls.

There are very few fouls, in some matches even zero: this is not possible in a gameplay that aims for realism.

    Here are the problems:

    - The CPU issues very few fouls, mostly tackles.

    - With 1.2.0, you've increased CPU aggressiveness, which is obvious, but not enough for the CPU to issue a foul.

    - When there are contacts and collisions between players, the referee almost never blows the whistle. I believe there's also a major problem attributable to buggy refereeing.

Finally, with 1.2.0, a huge bug appeared because it became impossible for the user to issue a foul other than a tackle: if I press X or SQUARE, I can never issue a foul!!!

So, the result is that cpu does not fouls, user does not fouls because X and SQUARE does not work anymore, referee does not use never the whistle: this is not football.

Please fix these issues because this year the gameplay is valid, but without fouls, the gameplay can't be called realistic.

    Thank you.

    Sorry EA Staff,

I have to confirm BUG in advance defence commands: if I push X or SQUARE is begin impossible to make a foul against CPU.

    please fix it.

Fouls problem is the biggest problem of authentuc gameplay, You have to fix it to have a realistic gameplay.

yesterday I have done 3 match against cpu, 3 fouls (not tackle) for me and 2 fouls (not tackle) for cpu ... but in 3 match .... this is totally unrealistic ...

    thanks

I studied when CPU AI commits fouls. If the user wants to be fouled, he has to enter duels very close to the opposing players (also it would be good to increase man marking to at least 70). But the opposing players are too skilled in FC 26 and easily take the ball away.

The best game for fouls was FC 24, the game the developers ruined with unrealistic high pressing. Despite that, it was still much better than FC 26.

    Hi Ian,

    Cheers for the backup.

I have reverted back to 25. And I have never done that in a game. Spent an hour transferring players, but hey, I just want some freekicks and penalties.

Its like since Pro Evo fell from the scene, EA have got lazy because of the lack of competition, and they know that gullible people like us will always go back with the promise of a better game than last year.

They've blitz all the liscences, so other games would need to have fake teams and kits etc.

EA really do have us over a barrel when it comes to playing a game of football.

  • This is still not fixedEA_Claus. And ultimate is still way too easy. Too easy too score to easy to defend , or the ai attacking is horribly bad. I feel scammed and I want my 100 euros back

So you say but update after update and nothing changes, it’s still the same old unrealistic tripe, you obviously don’t listen to us, no fouls and no slide tackles from the ai is a joke. Don’t expect it to be fixed and I’m also sure the cpu sliders don’t work as they do nothing, what a total car crash of a game.

Another update today and still this issue hasn’t been resolved, have the developers accepted ever watched a game of football? It’s glaringly obvious that this needs fixing but now I’ve given up that it will be and will be deleting the game, it’s so far from real football it’s embarrassing, car crash of a game which I will no longer be playing or buying in the future.
