Improving Controller/Game Settings (Profiles and Quick Load)
I understand that most EAFC players mainly play online modes like Ultimate Team, Seasons, and Pro Clubs, where controller and gameplay settings usually stay consistent for one player.
However, for players who often play offline with friends locally, the current system for managing settings is unnecessarily frustrating and time-consuming. Here's my suggestion to fix that:
Combine Game Settings and Controller Settings Again
In previous titles (FIFA 23 and earlier), gameplay settings and controller settings were easier to manage as the settings were grouped together. It would be a major improvement if they were grouped together again like before as these settings are closely linked and separating them makes no sense from a convenience, usability and accessibility standpoint.
Add Full Setting Profiles
Players should have the ability to create a settings profile that contains all their settings, this would include controller settings and then game settings. Instead of using generic presets like "Custom A, B, etc." players should be able to:
- Create a full settings profile (controller and game settings).
- Name and save full profiles as the player(s) sees fit.
- Load saved profiles at the "SELECT SIDES" screen.
- Be able to change settings profiles mid-game should a controller change hands mid-game
To make local multiplayer smoother, players should be able to load their settings profiles at the select sides screen and should be allowed to switch settings profiles during a match. This would eliminate the need to pause and adjust settings after every match especially when multiple players have multiple setting preferences.
Why this matters?
Local multiplayer is still a huge part of the EA SPORTS FC experience. When playing with friends physically, switching or adjusting minor settings after every match becomes annoying and time consuming. This change would make the game feel more polished and user friendly and would greatly improve couch play.
I really hope this suggestion is read in good faith, considered and subsequently implemented.
