Is there something wrong with Advanced Defending?

I've been using Advanced Defending ever since it was introduced on FC24. I prefer to decide for myself whether my player should perform a seal out or a tackle.

In FC26 the seal out animation just doesn't seem to register when a press X and opposition players end up bursting past my defenders with ease. I constantly find myself double checking to see whether I may have accidentally switched to Tactical Defending. I've used players with Bruiser base and Bruiser+ and haven't noticed any significant improvement.

Is this something anyone else has noticed? I'd rather not have to go back to using Tactical Defending, so if this is indeed a general issue I think it needs to be addressed.
