Respectfully… Going back to PES 2018
I recently bought the game FC 26 due to my older console not being able to run my former football game PES 2018. Although I think the graphics gameplay is refreshing, the lack of creativity in fundamental movements, the consistent bugs of lost team sheets, and created players, and the limited amount of national teams played in a off-line or tournament mode, has brought me to the conclusion that this has been one of the worst football games I’ve ever played.
Comparing how technical the footwork and movement was in PES 2018, running with the ball and making cross/lob passes has a more authentic feel. In FC it feels like any of my strikers or wing forwards can easily blow pass and elite defender, making challenges in the box or cross passes to creating goal opportunities non existent. I’m sure scoring 10+ goals in the first half is fun for a lot of younger players but for someone who’s grown-up playing a more realistic game it just feels cartoonish and boring.
Partial creations in a licensed sporting game should not feel tedious let alone broken. Ive gone through numerous of comments and a few Reddit articles discussing why it is I cannot load a previous saved file that had my created players and created team sheets. understandably everyone who plays FC looks forward to ultimate team or just a casual game online with friends however, there are still the casual players such as myself who enjoys a good authentic off-line match or a offline season using 40+ created players to see how they develop overtime. why does it feel then as if I am forced to play a whole entirely different game? the auto roster update feature should not exist, especially if it keeps players from editing new or existing players.
lastly, there’s no excuse to not have a total of 100+ national teams in your game. Although PES 2018 doesn’t have the license for the majority of clubs and national teams, there are still over 90+ countries represented. By giving the gamer a chance to develop their own creations and unique designs with teams that either they grown-up, watching or leagues that could be new to them, helps the immersion of a football fan in world known sport. A fan from Croatia or Nigeria should look forward to seeing their nation represented in an established football game, not having to pray that their team will be seen in a DLC.
I hope to see some changes in the future with your product. I’m a huge sports fan, not necessarily a football fan, but I can only imagine how one will feel to be consistently given the same product only for it to feel undeveloped buggy and broken. We’re talking about a 2026 game with issues from the early 2000s, That’s unacceptable. I look forward to upgrading my system just so I can go back and play PES 2018. sadly to say this would be the last FC FIFA soccer game I’m buying for a long time.
