Some player roles are not working
Key points if you don't want to read full.
Attacking wingbacks / Inverted Fullbacks
(Attacking wingbacks only) Don't hold the width they should. (tend to wander infield at times)
Should not be restricted to pushing up due to the ball being on their side or not
Should not retreat so aggressively back to the back 4/5 when the ball is not near them in possession.
LW and RW Roles
Versatile Winger - Not once have the wingers swapped sides at any point During the game as stated in the role description.
LB and RB Roles
Attacking Wing back Attack - The game does not push the player forward unless the ball is on that side, the moment the ball is not near them they retreat too far back to make a back 4 with the CB instead of holding ground high up the pitch along with wandering into the middle of the pitch to offer a passing option ideas of holding the width. It also feels that the moment the ball is no longer near them a magnet is pulling them back to a fullback position defeating the point of this role.
This means that back 5 formations and 41212 narrow become a big problem to use for some people as this is where the width comes from as you would switch from wingback or cm to the other wing back taking up a higher positions up the pitch, but this can't be done as they only advance when the ball is on their side, instead of looking at open space to advance into to provide the width when in possession.
Possible Solution - look back at the coding of the attacking wingbacks on eafc25 as it worked exactly as intended for an attacking wingback. The players would push up higher when the CB were on the ball for passing out the back and would attack the space on their side ahead of them regardless of the position on the ball being on their side. ( where the ball is should not be the permission of if they are allow to attack open space when you are in possession)
Inverted wingback - In this role the players do not want to push up into correct positions. Just like attacking wingbacks feels like a magnet is trying to pull them back into the backline again meaning they are not in the correct position for the role and are to pre occupied with defending when they don't have the ball near them than attacking positioning them selfs in a possession based scenario.
Possible Solution - when on the ball this roles should not be rushing back straight away to be in defence, also the position when not on the ball that they retreat to should be higher up the pitch. They should also make runs that are not determined so much by where the ball is, if their is space to attack when the ball is not near they should still attack the space and not be determined so much by the fact the ball being in a certain part of the field so much to allow them to get into certain positions.
Fixing these problems will also allow for better attacking options for breaking down people who have a lot of men behind the ball and with the player not retreating so fast to a back 4 \ 5 it allows for pressure to be applied properly to stop clear counter attacks making them game not so end to end for the players willing to not sit back and apply defensive pressure with the right amount of skill.
