Standing tackles feel broken

In my opinion, the standing tackle mechanic doesn't work like it should. Mistimed tackles don't do anything besides award space when in reality, they should hit the player which in turn awards a foul. Players seem to go through players that mistime tackles which is frustrating since i would like to see more fouls happening. This would add to authentic gameplay as right now most games end without any fouls, which doesn't seem realistic. The only effective way to foul is mistimed slide tackle and professional foul which is still good but fouls should be more frequent with mistimed standing tackles
