Switching players on pitch

Is it me or is the switching players dying match still very bad, like I’ve changed it to switch nearest player and still selecting players further away, and always a player who is behind and not in front like select a defender for example, please look into this, and also on player career if you select tatoo to choose it doesn’t appear on the player at all even though you’ve selected it
