The real key to Career Mode replay ability: A true stadium & kit creator
EA has mentioned in the past that the most requested and important features are the ones that get prioritized first. If the ultimate goal for EA FC 27 is to figure out how to keep players interested enough to come back to Career Mode months after release, the answer isn't just slightly better dribbling or minor graphical/cosmetic tweaks—it’s full-scale customization.
Don't get me wrong, new additions like "unexpected events" (e.g., a player getting homesick and needing time off) or the "Live Start Points" are nice little bonuses. But let’s be honest: absolutely nobody is turning on their console just because they are excited to deal with a homesick winger or to play a forced scenario. Those features often feel hollow and don't provide that "wow, I can't wait to play again" feeling.
What actually keeps a player invested in a save long-term is the ability to fantasize and craft our own unique experiences. To do that, we need two, absolute, must-have in '27, things:
A Next-Level Stadium Builder: Take the stadium creator from MLB The Show as a baseline, but give it even more detail and depth. Let us build our home ground from scratch, upgrading the architecture and environment as we climb the league pyramid.
A 100% Customizable Kit Creator: We need the depth seen in the NBA 2K jersey creators, but tailored for the pitch. Give us a full RGB color wheel down to the tiniest stitch. Most importantly, we need the ability to upload and download custom images for crests, chest sponsors, and sleeve sponsors to make our clubs feel truly authentic.
Instead of dedicating development time to forced scenarios that we probably don't really care about, give us the tools to build the club of our dreams. The ability to fine-tune the look and environment of our custom teams is what will actually create a deeply consuming experience and keep the community coming back for more.
Let us create our own completely unique and unrestricted moments. THAT is what keeps folks coming back for more throughout the year.
And sure, there are hundreds of more features that we could pile on to the wish list. But in the interest of not cluttering the brain, these are the 2 items that will make or break '27. If they aren't available, you're just asking for more, "It's just '26 with updated rosters" comments. I don't need new menus, I don't need pictures behind the menus of my stadium, etc. etc. etc. These are hollow cosmetic items that would be nice, but they don't sizzle after the first time we see them. Again, NO one is saying, "I can't wait to play the game because the menu looks different now". Spend the effort to move the game mode forward first with features that matter for replay ability, then focus on cosmetic changes during the year with the title updates.
