Clubs - Does your fit for role affect stats in game?

Question

Just wondering if your match for the role when you ready up in lbby affects your stats in game?

For example I am a level 50 Recycler playing CB. If I set tactics to make the CBs as ball playing defender I can get good fit, but If i choose a position with stopper or defender, I get yellow okay fit. Does this actually have any purpose or difference in game? I cannot see it explained anywhere.

The coloured dots beside the rating make me think it does lower your stats in game? Same way as playing someone not on full chem in UT does?

Anyone who can confirm or know the answer?

So i have used the Progressor CB build as a CAM because it is the only build with long ball pass in gold (Which in my opinion is essential for play-making).

I have noticed that although I have high dribbling stats in the 90's, my player still feels sluggish. Wondering if this is something that is actually put in the game or if I'm just imagining it.
