AI players get protection

Ever since I've been playing any of the FC games I try to defend the AI players my player can and will go completely around the AI player as if there was a barrier around him.  I could run straight at a player and my player will go completely around the AI player.  Now, sure I can make mistakes and completely miss the player, but I rarely sprint to defend and sprint at a player, I just move my player towards them, and they go completely around.  I thought not sprinting was the best way to control your player, you have most control when youre not moving like a freight train.  And I know I'm nit missing because of human error every single time because I've attempted to slide tackle an AI player two different times and my player was running/jogging at the AI player I slide tackle towards the AI, to try to get the ball, and my player when the complete opposite way.  Two different times, two different defenders.  I left picture by picture proof, the game doesn't allow me to take Screen Videos anymore
