Are mods actually allowed??🤔🤔

I'm trying to get into Player Career Mode, but the options are very limited. I want to play with a little more freedom, like the ability to change the ages of players, etc. So I did what anyone else would do I downloaded a mod. The first things that happen when I try to run FC26 through the Mod's launcher is that I get a notification saying I may get banned for using it. Is there a real risk, and mostly, am I allowed to use mods? I am planning only to use them in offline modes (like Player Career).
