Coming from an Online Seasons player here.
I recommend making your substitutes in the 2nd half when players start to become fatigued.
If you sprint constantly you will eventually tire.
I don't know how Ultimate Team reacts to this as it's heavily sprint heavy and the mechanics are different to Seasons.
