That's exactly what happened to me just now: a gold player with Bruno Fernandes and 67 PAC destroying my team and defense without any reaction. They don't even bother to hide the nerf they give to your team. And the worst part isn't even that, the worst part is the psychological damage this game causes. What's the point? You don't win anything with the packs, you can play with your eyes closed because the Champions results are predetermined, you win the same matches every week no matter how you play, and in Rivals the rewards are terrible. Furthermore, they ruined the player experience: you can play like crazy and still not be able to level up with these 4-game checkpoints that are totally useless. For me, this is the last game. There's no point in playing this anymore.
