So you think the op is wrong that he is experiencing delay and not the uk and Europe? He could very well be wrong but I could also be misunderstanding what you are saying too.

I don't think there is a wrong or right in this story. Like EA says: there are multiple reasons why the game is not working the way it should, and server range is one of them. All I can say is: my setup is great, I'm within a radius of a few 100kms from 4 servers, and I am also experiencing delays and irresponsive behaviour. EA admitted there are inconsistencies in their game. As long as these are not dealt with, your op has no way to figure out if his delay is caused by server distance or bugs in the game.
Like I said before: not every delay is caused by EA, but everyone suffers from the delays caused by them. Deal with these first and then we can check individually to improve our setup
