Player mode objectives

Get 10 player objectives for the season pass objective. You get 3 in a match, it only counts as 1. You get 3, it counts as 2 etc. etc.  How is it that this is a problem for years now? How difficult is it to get the appropriate number of objectives? Or is this only done to lengthen the game time, since people need to play more matches?
