Why wouldn’t offense just be manual? They add all of these gimmicks just to avoid having offense have a skill gap. Then they are just making everything easier more pace faster dribbling ping pong passing more skill moves. Offline realistic mode looks like it will have more of a skill gap than arcade mode will. It doesn’t make sense.

Mandatory precision finishing is not a viable option. There are newcomers that will need to learn from assisted before moving on to precision. They would likely just quit if they had to rely on precision alone. Precision will become the skill gap as it's likely that assisted will have moments where it doesn't quite put the shot where you are aiming, allowing the keeper to make the save. Assisted is to help get the ball on target, it is not for helping give you perfect shooting skills on the game.
It's much easier to defend than attack realistically, when defending you have to focus on the player that has the ball and where it might go, will they pass, do a skill move, or will they shoot. When attacking you have to find who is open, avoid being tackled, play passes to other players without them being intercepted, search for openings in the defence, and when you finally get to goal you have to focus on your shot itself. Also, currently you have to constantly try and trigger player runs whilst going where you want to go and watch for the ridiculous AI offside. Attacking is significantly more complicated than Defending, you act like there isn't a skill gap in attacking but there is quite a big one realistically. Currently though it's mainly broken mechanics that people use as a crutch to create that gap, with AI defending in the right formation and tactics currently broken being the crutch for the other side.
Competitive live events in many games follow a slightly different ruleset, and it is not realistic to put the majority of players on those settings. All that would cause is people leaving the game, less revenue, less profit, and eventually the end of FC. When it comes to companies you have to think about how to retain the maximum number of customers possible, as there is no way to please everyone.
So because new players will play we need to have an arcade mode with a lower skill gap? To me that doesn’t even make sense. You could learn the game in squad battles rush or friendlies before playing rivals or wl. Even rivals would find you other players in d 10 who don’t know how to play.
I realize people have a hard time passing and shooting now but the answer isn’t just make them both easier in 26 while basically removing defense.
At least make offense manual in the competitive modes for a skill gap.

So your answer instead is to limit what people can play on the game they have purchased? Coming from the person who was complaining that only having authentic in career mode and kick off limits people who want to play it, that's counter intuitive, maybe even hypocritical. Of course it's great when they limit people in the way you want them to isn't it? Should the game only be for you? By making everything manual you are restricting it from people who need the assistance when playing the game.
Assisted has always been in the game, and when it's been good in the past pro players have used it. In 99% of posts you comment on you don't make sense to me, I would love to know who you think has a hard time passing or shooting? Personally, I always used semi assisted passing and semi assisted shooting back in the day, now I only use precision shooting because it's better.
I said they can keep it in the non competitive modes. This would give new players the option to learn without a skill gap. They could even remove defense and gk just so they could score if they need to go that far for new players.

But the majority of people play for the competitive modes. Removing defense and goalkeepers is just a ridiculous idea. Some people literally need those assisted settings to be able play even in the lower divisions, and by your logic we just exclude them from any competitive mode.
What is the point of having a competitive mode if you remove all the skill? I am not against having an option for new players. if new players can’t score they can remove defenders and gk. They already made offense as easy as it can be.
I just don’t understand making competitive modes no skill for new players. It sounds counter productive.

So a person's ability to defend without AI assistance, make precise shots without the assistance of increased accuracy from things like timed finishing, and in general their ability to work the ball and attack won't have a skill gap? This is why I find you confusing, just one look at the majority of changes being made says that the skill gap should increase, yet you keep acting like they are removing the skill gap complete all because they are making things a bit quicker and adding some AI improvements to attacking.
For all I know you are a top player, but quite a few people this year aren't, they are being helped up the divisions and to champs wins by broken mechanics. That's why EA are locking mechanics behind playstyles, removing timed finishing, and from what I've seen in multiple videos on YouTube they have put effort into nerfing things like L1 speed boosts and step over speed boosts. Can they eliminate them completely? I don't know but I would like them to. I don't even know myself if they have actually improved the problem, but everything I've seen is pointing to the fact that they have.
I am not asking for much from defending but maybe being able to make a tackle when controlling a defender. But yeah offense should be manual for a competitive mode. I could see if you did nothing on defense and every game ended 0-0 but defense does nothing.
I realize people don’t want to do anything on offense and hope ea remove any kind of skill but at some point if you want to call it competitive modes shouldn’t it have some skill on offense?
like I said I all for removing gk and defense in modes that new player play in so they learn how to play.

They have already showed video of them trying to work on tackles, they are even trying out what look to be stumble animations on attackers when you succeed in a tackle. I don't know about you but I manage to make a lot of tackles, my biggest problem is tacklebacks and bouncebacks, they are far too common.
I really want to know what you mean by offense should be manual? Are you talking about less AI? Or are you talking about passing and shooting being manual? If you are talking about passing and shooting then the majority of people would stop playing the game altogether. The majority of the player base don't even touch semi assisted when it's available, and when manual used to be included in the likes of Fifa14 it was a very small player base that used it. Which means going back to my previous answer of catering to the majority.
I have to ask, but why do you keep going back to this removing goalkeepers and defenders thing? Again, it's a ridiculous idea. That doesn't help someone learn to play the game, you are taking 5 players out of the team. This isn't even the first time you have mentioned this sort of thing on the same post as me, you did it on a post a few months ago or so. What is your thing with removing players from the game? I'm pretty sure it was one of my posts about goalkeepers being useless. I remember saying I may aswell not have one, and you started chirping that they should remove them.
I'm sorry if this comes across as rude, but most of the time you just seem like a troll on these forums. Deliberately trying to wind people up, or change what's being talked about. I've seen quite a few people in the last 7 or so months that seem to get annoyed after a while of you being involved on a post. My memory isn't great on what they were about, but I know that you are a very common denominator.
