Precision Shooting should become mandatory on competitive settings

Only way to reinforce the skill gap on finishing after the decision of removing Timed Finishing from the game. Competitive live events already have that on too on 25, makes 0 sense that qualifying for them doesn't follow the same logic.

  • Yea the big change for defense is being able to make a tackle if you control the defense while also nerfing the ai and doubling how easy offense is to offset the change.

To me that’s the bare minimum of defense being advertised as being able to finally make a tackle.

But if that’s to hard for new players like I said just remove defense and keepers in the non competitive modes.

But yeah competitive modes like wl and rivals should at least be manual offense. I realize this might be hard for new players but this is the only way to have a skill gap.

I suppose I am an old gamer when new players played they just learned the game and got better as they went. Now it’s just remove the skill so everyone can play.

I would say it's a 99.99% guarantee that you learned on assisted and so on. I've played since around FIFA08 and I learned on assisted shooting and the like then went to semi assisted. Even back then semi assisted was still heavily assisted.

You act like there isn't a skill gap, but I've been placed against lower division players in champs a couple of times and the skill gap is real. I picked up the game in December and went straight up through to division 3, because of the skill gap. A lot people playing the game probably had at least a couple of months to get used to the game, but I breezed through the lower divisions. Why? Because of a skill gap.

You do understand that you predominantly face people around the same division as you right? That's why it stops feeling like there is a skill gap, once you hit where you can get to that is your skill level, and the people around will mostly have the same skill level. Even if you change everything to manual all you do is change the way the skill gap is decided. New players are not the ones out here picking up the game and playing you as if they have been playing for years, it's most likely people with alt accounts.

Again this will sound rude, but I really am confused by the way you talk about skill gaps, sometimes you give off the impression that you don't fully understand skill gaps. I'll give you an example, I haven't played online seasons on this game yet, but I can guarantee you that if I start playing it tomorrow I will breeze my through to at least Division 3 barely losing a game. I may lose a few games to smurf accounts, but the majority will be against LOWER skilled players, making them easy wins. I've done an alt account myself before in a couple of FIFA games, on one of them I played online seasons and from Div 10 all the way to Div 1 I lost one game to another alt account.

The skill gap will always exist, you don't need everything to be manual to create something that already exists. Once you hit your skill cap it feels like there isn't one because everyone around you has the same skill. EA messed up this year and the skill gap from top rated players down was mostly speed boost, broken trivelas, and broken formations, but even outside of those three things I can tell you that I have faced many people better than me. I'm just happy to admit it, I'm also happy to admit that I'm not as good as I used to be, but I'm not trying to be I just want to enjoy it these days.

  • I would have learned the game on manual offense if ea wanted to add a skill gap. I mean on the plus side for you ea is removing the skill gap and adding arcade gameplay for new players. I doubt it will change since it makes business sense to not discourage new players with a difficult game.

You keep saying manual offense, but you've never clarified and actually said what that is to you? Please tell me everything you think "manual offense" should be.

Why is it a plus side for me if they are removing the skill gap? That means I can't climb Divisions as easily. If it turns out the skill gap is removed from the changes they are making then I'll say I was wrong, but having played for so long, what I've seen and read tells me these changes are better for the skill gap not worse.

I use assisted however I don't touch the settings ever I just jump on and play. I garauntee most will tell me there's settings to change to help, I just never have. I do for a bit of fun. However I do feel if they make it a mandatory skill gap then they should make defending a mandatory skill gap. Remove every **bleep**ty mechanic fc has created because there's a fair few.

  • I don’t think anybody would tell you to change the settings to help you. It will make it harder but that’s the point of adding a skill gap.

It’s like last year when they made offense easier the first thing everyone said at the pro tournament was if you are at home go back to non manual offense because there is no need to make it harder for yourself. The only reason the pros do it is because they are forced to play manual to add a skill gap at the tournaments.

Precision shooting is definately better by a country mile. I used it last night after shots were going closer to the stadium rim than on target haha. Now I can score goals again lmao. I'm not massively in tune with the game like that. But honestly weekend league should be how the pros set up, same with other competitive games. One thing ild like to add is why is switching players so **bleep** difficult in this game. It's like it gets confused lmao.
