It’s because of realism. Here is an extreme example. Say you kick the ball from your gk to your striker. The ball is halfway there and you hit pass. Should you have to wait for the striker to receive the ball and control it or should he break reality and pass the ball instantly.
Now online will no longer be realistic so they can move more towards arcade.
No, I'm not talking about such situations. The player often already in possession of the ball just waits before starting to play the animation of the pass, although the button has already been pressed. And this is not conditional realism, because sometimes everything works at once. It just breaks the understanding of timings in this game. And in general, this game is too arcade to justify anything from the standpoint of realism.

That thing about players having a preferred and a lesser foot was already introduced like 5-10 years ago in Fifa. It worked great and now suddenly it's an issue. If a good right footed player in real life sees an opening to make a pass, he's perfectly capable of doing so. He's not gonna wait until the ball is in front of his right foot and only then give the pass, cause the opening is not there anymore. Even worse with strikers in front of an open goal. Players will have a go if they have an opportunity to score, they will not try to joggle the ball to get to their preferred foot.
I totally agree that these faults are entirely to be blamed on the developers. It is clear to me that this disaster was released without proper testing. And from what i see from the comments from the beta testers, nothing has changed in '26. A lot of them can't even access it.
