Sub glitches

To the EA Sports FC 26 Team,

I am writing to express my frustration regarding a serious issue my team experienced in Pro Clubs that completely ruined hours of progress. This wasn’t just a minor inconvenience—it cost us a legitimate opportunity to reach Division 1 because of what appears to be a server issue that was completely outside of our control.

My club had spent approximately two hours grinding through matches and had put together a six-game winning streak. We were finally one match away from earning promotion to Division 1. During that final match, we were winning comfortably with a score of 4-1 and were clearly on our way to securing promotion.

Then the opposing team made a substitution.

Almost immediately after the substitution, every player in the match—on both teams—began lagging and was eventually disconnected from the game. This was not an issue with our internet connection, nor was it isolated to a single player. Everyone experienced the same problem at the exact same time, making it obvious that this was a server-side issue or a problem with the game’s matchmaking infrastructure.

To lose a promotion opportunity because of something completely outside of the players’ control is unacceptable. We invested our time, played fairly, earned six consecutive wins, and were about to achieve Division 1, only to have all of that progress potentially erased because the servers failed.

EA Sports is a multi-billion-dollar company. Players expect a reliable online experience, especially in one of the flagship game modes that relies entirely on stable servers. Issues like this should not be happening, particularly in a competitive mode where promotions, rankings, and club records are on the line. Server stability should be one of the highest priorities for a company with the resources that EA has.

What makes this even more frustrating is that this isn’t the first time players have experienced server instability in FC 26. Many members of the community have dealt with disconnects, lag spikes, and matchmaking problems, yet these issues continue to occur. It is incredibly discouraging to spend hours working toward a goal only to have the game itself prevent you from achieving it.

I ask that EA investigate what happened during this match, especially if server logs show that every participant disconnected simultaneously after the substitution. Situations like this deserve to be reviewed because they have a direct impact on competitive progression. At the very least, matches affected by confirmed server failures should not count against players, and there should be a system in place to protect clubs from losing progress due to EA’s own technical issues.

I enjoy playing Pro Clubs and want the game to succeed, but experiences like this make it difficult to continue investing time in the mode. Players deserve a stable, fair, and competitive environment where results are determined by skill—not by server failures.

I sincerely hope this issue is taken seriously and that meaningful improvements are made so other clubs do not have to go through the same experience.
