TOTY edition is a joke
EA has released a TOTY Edition for £49.99 that includes the base game plus additional content.
However, players who pre-ordered or bought the Standard Edition at launch paid £69.99, and those who bought Ultimate paid even more.
What doesn’t make sense is that Standard Edition owners could have waited until January and paid £20 less, while also receiving extra TOTY content. Instead, early buyers paid more money for less value.
Discounts later in the game cycle are expected, but releasing a cheaper edition that includes added content — while giving nothing at all to players who bought at full price — effectively penalises those who supported the game early.
Pre-order and full-price players get no compensation, no equivalent content, and no acknowledgement, despite paying the most.
This discourages buying the game at launch and sends the message that waiting for promotions is the better option.
Why were early buyers not given any equivalent value when this edition was released?
