Can't play with a friend in FC 26

Hi there, Could someone help me here. Both my friend and i are using PS5 and on the ultimate edition but we are not able to play with each other. FC 26 keeps saying add friends with FC ultimate team....

For a few days now whenever I boot up clubs on fc 26 I get an internet connection error even though all the other online modes work. does anyone know if they’re working on fixing this problem?
