[EAFC26 PC] Guantlet controller issue

whenever I go into a Gauntlet game it wont register my controller and assigns the keyboard/mouse, even if I unplug them from the PC and load into another gauntlet game it still has the keyboard assigned. the player icon colour changes to an orange. but  every other game mode I've played, rush rivals squad battles all work with the controller indicating the red player icon. with this issues I'm forced to leave gauntlet games  as I struggle to win games with a controller am not going to attempting to play a game on keyboard and mouse.
