FC26 lost some main features??

My son is trying to play FC26 on the Xbox, he played for a few months with no problems but it now won’t let him choose any team other than one and doesn’t show any championship or other leagues, it says to upgrade but even that says it’s unavailable?? He was able to do everything in the beginning but not now ??
