FC26 trial not giving access to the actual game

My fc26 trial only allows me to play skill games and says I need to upgrade to play the likes of ultimate team and career mode. Is this meant to be like this or is it a bug? It would be disappointing to find out this was intentional as after years of disappointment I’ve decided not to buy the game until I experience the trial.
