Yes I agree with all you have said. This works on Radeon RX6600 too but recommend to set Full Rate Cutscene option too for best experience, because the half rate mode will anyway force a fast vsync and a bit more input lag during the gameplay (colors would also appear washed out).
Patch 1.0.3 is needed too to avoid drops after corner kicks. Before that I could not use Full Rate Mode without drops after corner kicks.
So definitely v1.0.3 - 60 Hz - 60 fps limit - borderless - full rate mode does the job for me.
Only remaining thing is still a bit of input lag only when moving the direction during a corner kick but that's acceptable
What's interesting regarding half-rate mode, for me, it didn't affect the lag on corners at all. Both full and half rate work the same in terms of potentially causing lag; switching to full didn't fix it.
I've temporarily switched to half-rate for two reasons:
- The animations in cutscenes and goal celebrations look a bit weird, especially the cloth physics (I set the cloth physics to medium to have some nice animation instead of static).
- I found it harder to hit the green zone for penalties in full rate mode. I can't tell if I was just clumsy or if it actually affects the timing, especially considering that I don't have 60 fps during penalty in matches. Switching to half-rate seemed to help, but it might just be in my head—hard to say for sure. Anyway, in my case, my GPU isn't powerful enough to deliver high FPS in cutscenes, so full rate mode maybe problematic.
And about the little input lag when changing direction on corners—yeah, I had that in previous FCs too, so I'm used to it.
Just out of curiosity, do you experience any lag during kick-offs as well if there was a cutscene before?
