Ps5 Fc 26 overheating warning
Hello EA Support,
Platform: PlayStation 5 – original model, not Slim
Game version: EA SPORTS FC 26 – PS5 version
Game mode: [Online Friendlies / Kick Off
My PS5 had been completely powered off for approximately nine hours and was completely cold. I launched FC 26 and the menus worked normally. However, as soon as a match started, the console fan suddenly began running at maximum speed. The system then displayed the “Your PS5 is too hot. Turn off your PS5 and wait until the temperature goes down” warning. The console subsequently beeped three times and shut itself down.
This problem occurs only with the PS5 version of FC 26. The PS4 version of FC 26 works normally. GTA V PS5 and several other native PS5 games also run for extended periods without any overheating warning, excessive fan speed, or shutdown.
Reproduction steps:
- Start the PS5 from a completely cold state.
- Launch the PS5 version of FC 26.
- Enter a match.
- As soon as gameplay starts, the fan runs at maximum speed.
- The overheating warning appears and the console shuts down.
I need the PS5 version to use cross-play with a friend who plays on PC, so switching permanently to the PS4 version is not a workable solution. Other users have reported the same behavior specifically when a match begins.
Please escalate this issue to the FC 26 development team and investigate whether the PS5 version is creating an abnormal system load or incorrectly triggering the PS5 thermal protection system.
