The ai is not a "good player with a bad team".

FC is a game of learning exploits.

Wouldn't advise watching the pro's, they have little actual football knowledge, they'll just teach you the meta formations, tactics and broken game exploits (such as the now back R1 dribble, into fidget spin, r1 dribble exit).

Also the latest update broke squad battles ai, they now ping pong pass at super human speeds which regular humans can't react quick enough too.

You're not alone mate, game was good after the R1 dribble nerf, "pros" and content creators threw a hissy fit and got pandered too again.

Just played my last 4 squad battles games for the week and it was the least enjoyable vs ai experience I've had in any Fifa/FC title, ever.

EA manage to take the one mode I found casual and enjoyable away.

It's actually quite impressive how EA manage to kill every bit of fun in this game, unless this change to squad battles ai is reverted then I'm done.
