Submitted a gold Messi into an SBC and It took my EVO'd Messi

I submitted a gold Messi(86) into the 89+ FUT Birthday SBC and it took my EVO'd Messi(90). I know that it was only a gold as I added and removed him to make sure that I was using the cheapest possible solution. Upon going back into my squad I noticed that all my squads with my EVO'd messi went to concept squads. 

I did not make a mistake here. I am certain of it. Please advise.
