After I completed one successful series in Heavyweight Royalty mode, matchmaking completely changed.
Now I’m getting matched against what feels like esports-level players every single game. I can’t win a single match anymore.
I’m currently in Division 3 in Rivals. But this mode feels like it’s dominated by boosters and ultra-competitive players.
Heavyweight Royalty just feels insane right now.

Is there any update from EA on this? It’s getting really frustrating.
Matchmaking needs to be fixed asap
I am in Div1 and haven't got to one final in the heavyweight tournament, have come up against a few players using bots too, but the general play is just ridiculous and leaves you know chance of completing, this is suppose to be a game and games should be fun but this is just an impossible sweat fest, EA sort it out and give us an extended time to complete this!
Recent events were actually manageable.
They were challenging but fair, and the time required felt reasonable.
But starting with the Royalty event, it feels like we’re going back to the “best practices” of eafc 25 - extreme grind, artificial difficulty, and over-the-top requirements.
Best you ever get is "the development team is looking into this" - you never, ever get a detailed explanation of what went wrong, how it was corrected, and what has been put in place to ensure it doesn't happen again. There is zero accountability from EA, even on its own forums, instead they hide behind moderators who often are as informed as the rest of us, ie not at all (through no fault of their own). It's a very odd way to treat your customers and moderators.
this is apparantly what the community was asking for having no division matchmaking but random opponents ^^ guess now that nobody except elite division plays tournaments people start to realize why this is terrible gamedesign^^ as a div 4 player with putellas toty i got 0 chance to even win the middle tournament so i gave up even playing. so i guess most lower division players don't play and in the later rounds you only get matched against div 1 upwards as this mode eliminates casuals so that they got no reason to even play it from the beginning
you forgot the mediocre rewards ^^ why it is pointless to play this under division 1 teamlevel ^^ i rather let AI play 45 games in efootball to get my 100 ovr neymar which i can keep for a couple of years instead of this hopeless mode

People are grinding up to 40 matches per day in Heavyweight Royalty just to get absolutely nothing.
The early rewards are garbage for the amount of sweat required. Then you expect players to win 4 in a row - twice. That quickly turns into 60, 80, even 100+ matches for rewards that don’t justify the time, stress, or effort.
And that’s before we even talk about:
Before this, despite all of FIFA’s flaws, the game was at least playable. Events were tough but achievable.
With Royalty, you’ve crossed into pure grind and frustration.
Be sure of one thing: if this direction continues, a lot of players will leave. And then someone will have to explain internally how a season that started strong suddenly lost its player base.
all designed to keep us coming back to play. why these things have limited time so people think i must get on and play these games or i will miss out. I always find cup competitions in fut like that and in fut champs. It does feel like it purposely puts you up against much more difficult opponents. then usually after a couple of goes in the cups it suddenly gives you much easier opponent's so you can complete it.
I can’t win in middle weight it’s terrible people I come up against are real pros or no loss glitching
