Inconsistent gameplay.

All last week, we were practicing on World Class to get squad battles. We got to the point where we could beat 91 rated teams, albeit in an intense match. I've played FIFA since FIFA '98, but my last game was FIFA 18, so I'm not used to everything being online and constantly glitching. For my girlfriend, this will be her first and last FIFA game (EA is not getting another cent from us). Anyways, we are learning to play this terrible game, and we get to the point where we can beat World Class teams of 85 and under fairly comfortably. Then, an update drops 2 days ago, and everything went downhill. We can't steal the ball, finesse shot doesn't work (they literally shoot a regular shot 80% of the time), our players abandon the ball in the middle of a dribble, our far stronger players get muscled off the ball by midgets. We lost a match against an 84 rated team on World Class.

Race for points is over. The very next game, I'm trying to take my frustration out on the opposing team (at this point, I get more joy from watching them do involuntary yoga positions from my slide tackles than actually scoring), two of our players get sent off, and we still win 4-2 against World Class team....they only scored 2 off pens. 

What is happening? What was in that update? Who tested it? Does anyone work at EA anymore or is it AI doing market research on how broken the game needs to be before people stop falling for it?

    While I agree the game is bad. And squad battles are stupidly hard, but personally I win all my games 99% of the time of above 85 is world class, and everything 85 and under is on legendary, I average 36k points every week

    but so many issues from tackling is impossible on AI, and the AI will get the ball so easy off my players, 

    the passing is drab at best, the AI defending for the players team is reactive, where the AI uses players input to know where you are going etc.

    its bad but you need to learn to counter attack everytime. It’s really annoying tbh. It can be difficult to score normally

    We usually don't have a problem scoring, even though playing as 2 players is confusing as the game switches us up all the time. The problem is keeping possession and taking the ball from them. We would play legendary on 75 and below comfortably, world class 85 and below.....or at least we used to, until this last update. It's even worse now. 

    Passing is not just drab, it's horrible. The passes often go back or out of bounds. I even turned on the movement indicator to see if we aim the passes correct. It will show correct direction, but the pass will still go to the opponent, back to the defense or out of bounds. Our players drift on their own, we have to fight them to get them back. And I don't just mean our AI, the players we currently control start running away from the ball. 

    Counter attacks really are the only way, but now our players feel sluggish and hard to control, and the defending AI is fast, aggressive and bullies much stronger players off the ball. Mbappe is getting ran down by defenders with 73 pace, Zirkzee is being bullied by players with under 70 strength. It's like these stats don't matter. We just got used to this atrocious gameplay, and with new update, everything got worse.
