Player return from training camp earlier

Hi, I’m playing Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC 24 and I put a player into an Evolution (Training Camp).

He completed the first two stages successfully, but then he returned to my club.

His overall rating increased compared to before, but his stats stayed exactly the same.

Now I can’t put him again because his rating.

Is this a bug, or did something go wrong with the Evolution?
