Yup a massive difference, if anything this promo illustrates the importance of playstyles over stats. The meta way to play to this game right now (not that I agree with it) is to play to the playstyle. I feel like it's glaringly obvious the difference a play style, even a base one, makes on a player. I have TOTY Rooney for example, great card, scores bangers, but despite having great pace stats he has no rapid or quickstep, dude genuinely feels sluggish on the ball and can't outrun defenders despite having 95 pace after an engine.
I think playstyles have such an impact to the point it's annoying. I don't know what Division you're in, maybe its a lower one so the effect of playstyles is not as obvious, but I play in Div 1 - Elite. Literally every game plays out the same because everyone is running hard meta, which means every game is dictated by anticipating and knowing the playstyles on a card: "I want to make this pass, does that player have intercept+?" "They're trying to work this angle, does that player have finesse?" Literally knowing they playstyles on your opponents cards dictate a massive amount of your choices. It sucks quite honestly, the game has become robotic because of it. Not to mention the fact that despite a high stat, if a card doesn't have the playstyle your chances of performing something successfully drastically decrease. Try scoring a finesse outside the box without the finesse playstyle, bet you you maybe score 1 in 50.
