Severe ping drops

Recently, my game has reached levels of 2000 ping while playing online, I often play division rivals and on other weekends it is often ok, with average levels of lag. Very frustrating as these levels of lag cause me to concede a lot of goals and miss a lot of open chances, is this the game itself, because my wifi is quite stable
