Yeah I'm on PC. I have been taking a battering this year, after coming back for first time since FIFA21, I don't mind that so much, but yeah, Diaby has 94 pace and the TOTW Endo has about 72 or something, was pretty weird, when Diaby had full stamina and momentum, just got overtaken. I definitely need to put in some hard yards to improve this year. Any advice?
It could just be a connection issue as well; connection to the servers impacts gameplay in unique ways!
My suggestion would be to try to improve your gameplay. Try looking up what's meta and copying those things. Sometimes, there are in-game mechanics like certain pass types or shot types that make the opposing player do weird things like not be able to catch up or react in weird ways!
I'm not big on playing the meta, I always like to go off meta, but there's just some things you can't ignore!

I would also suggest that you stop playing and take a break if the game gets frustrating and or if it's getting you mad. :)
Hey, thanks for the response. Yeah, primarily the struggles I'm having are defending. I used to be quite decent in 13/14/15 and was consistently in Elite1 and 2, in champs, took a break (playing that amount of games in a weekend was kind of intense) and came back for 21, where the disconnect glitch just completely ruined the game for me. I was reasonable, but seems like defending is totally alien to me now, Jockey used to be sort of overpowerered, but now it's almost redundant. Perhaps I'm using it wrong, but yeah, feels like the dribble pace boost just eradicates jockey. Are people mainly left stick manual defending 1v1 this year? Regarding in possession, I feel reasonable, I miss sitters here and there though (Using precision, guessing meta is assisted shooting?)
The common tip I hear is to try not to switch to your defenders and run back with your CDM's/CM's while tactfully pressing with the 2nd man.
