UT account got hacked, 5.4m coins distributed. Appeal under review!
So, yesterday my Ultimate Team account got hacked. I received two emails at 10:09 & 10:19 am respectively- one stating that my account has been permanently banned and the other stating that it’s banned from online access for 14 days.
Now, here it gets funny, I last played the FUT on Wednesday, December 3rd and logged out of UT at around 10:50pm. Quitted the game properly and turned off my console (I play only on my PS5).
Fast forward to the next morning, I receive two emails at the above mentioned times stating my account ban. I work 9-6 on weekdays so it does not make any sense.
When I tried to open the FUT companion app, the password had been changed, after changing the password myself again I got the message my account has been permanently disabled. I go to online browser to login and see that there’s an Xbox linked to my account (I have never owned a Xbox and never given out my ID to anyone), then I check the trusted accounts - there it shows two locations which are halfway around the world. This is more than enough evidence that the account was hacked and used for coin distribution.
Moreover, when I go to the EA penalty history tool, it shows as my ban as permanent when the email I received was for a 14 day suspension. This contradiction is really confusing for me especially when I have invested so much time and effort in my account. Two penalties were recorded; one for cheating and one for balance transfer so most probably the hacker has already rinsed my account of every single coin.
I have already submitted an appeal and it’s “Waiting on studio” right now. Will my ban be overturned provided EA have all the login and operational logs, they have all the IP addresses from where the account was logged in and it was not me and will I be compensated for the right amount of coins?
This is really concerning for someone who enjoys playing the game and grinded quite hard over the past month to accumulate such coin balance.
