Why have promocards?

When most default gold 70 paced CBs can catch up with any 90+ pace promocard player. That and a superowerpowered shot (low driven) that no one uses in real football, because the goalkeeper would save it 19/20 times. But not in EA FC, there you can score with this slow pathetic shot 9/10.
