SPFL / Scottish Football in Career Mode – Issues Still Not Fixed from FC26

I wanted to raise some issues with the SPFL in Career Mode in FC27.

I raised these issues multiple times on the EA forums during FC26, but unfortunately they still appear to be present. As a Scottish football fan, it's frustrating to see Scottish football once again receiving very limited attention compared with other leagues and competitions in the game.

There are three main issues I'd really like the Career Mode team to look at:

1. Scottish League Cup is completely missing

The Scottish League Cup is not included in Career Mode.

If this is due to a licensing issue, could EA not simply include a third Scottish domestic cup using the same format as the Scottish Cup already in the game, even if it cannot use the official League Cup branding?

The important thing for Scottish Career Mode players is having the actual competition structure represented. Scotland having only one domestic cup competition in Career Mode is unrealistic.

2. The Scottish Premiership "Second Stage" fixtures are unrealistic

This is probably the biggest issue with the Scottish league structure.

After the first 33 games, the league splits into the top and bottom six. However, Career Mode consistently generates the 1st-place team playing 2nd place on the final day of the season.

This means that when playing as Rangers or Celtic, you constantly end up with Rangers v Celtic as the final fixture of the season.

That's not how the Scottish Premiership fixture system works.

The second-stage fixtures need to take into account the home/away balance from the first 33 matches. For example, if two teams have already played twice at one team's ground, the corresponding second-stage fixture should be played at the other team's stadium.

This would make the Scottish league feel much more authentic and would stop the same unrealistic fixture appearing every season.

3. Scottish Cup semi-finals

The Scottish Cup semi-finals are also not represented correctly.

The semi-finals should be played at a neutral venue, rather than the game simply giving one of the teams home advantage.

A good comparison is the English FA Cup, where the game already understands the concept of neutral semi-final venues.

Ideally, the Scottish Cup semi-finals should be played at the same stadium used for the final, rather than being treated as normal home fixtures.

Why I'm raising this again

I raised these points repeatedly on the FC26 forums, so it's disappointing to see the same issues continuing into FC27.

I'm not expecting Scotland to receive the same level of resources as the Premier League, but the SPFL is an officially represented league in EA Sports FC and Scottish fans buy the game and play Career Mode just like everyone else.

These aren't requests for completely new gameplay systems. They're relatively straightforward issues with competition structure, fixtures and authenticity that have a huge impact on the experience of managing a Scottish club.

I'd really appreciate it if someone from the Career Mode team could acknowledge these issues and let Scottish players know whether they are being looked at.

Scottish football fans deserve better representation in EA Sports FC.
