New Playstyles Lab *UX Suggestion

The Problem: The current PlayStyles Lab interface feels unnecessarily tedious and time-consuming. Having to repeatedly scroll through the entire list of PlayStyles, search for a specific one, select a player, apply it, and then repeat that exact cycle for every single PlayStyle or PlayStyle+ creates a frustrating loop. In FC 26, I hated this, and I didn't try most of the 99 players because it was so boring to add the PlayStyles; instead, I played with Icons.

Because there is no live visual overview during the installation process, it's easy to forget which PlayStyles are already applied mid-search. You often only realize a player has hit their maximum allowed PlayStyle capacity after navigating all the menus to apply one. What should be a quick, fun customization feature ends up taking 3–5 minutes per player item.

The Proposed Solution: Player-First Selection Flow. Instead of forcing users to pick the PlayStyle first, invert the flow:

  1. Select the Player Item First: Choose your target player from your club once at the start.
  2. Unified PlayStyle Grid: Opening the player item launches a single, familiar PlayStyle view (similar to the grid layout in Career Mode). *attached
  3. Direct Application: Highlight the PlayStyle you want to add, then hold/long-press to consume the evolution and apply it directly to the card.

Why This Improves the Experience

  • Drastic Time Savings: Cuts setup time from 3–5 minutes down to under 1 minute per player.
  • Visual Clarity: All current PlayStyles, available slots, and limits are visible on one screen before you commit an item.
  • Eliminates Redundant Steps: You only search for and load your player card once, rather than re-indexing your club for every individual PlayStyle upgrade.

This is a simple UX Rework for PlayStyles Lab that streamlines item selection & Slot Allocation while keeping it quick and fun to do.
