Can EA please confirm timings of EA Play 10hr free trial? (UK, Console, PS5)

Last year was perfect10 hour trial 1pm solved the issue for ps players as xbox can access that time in uk regardless due to nz midnight should have kept it the same in my eyes paid for ultimate edition yet im one of the last people on it as i need to wait till midnight then again we couldnt complain if xbox couldnt acess till 12 either (ultimate version) 

Exactly. This is the part that makes the situation so frustrating.

People were told to wait for official communication, and then when the official Pitch Notes were published, players reasonably trusted what EA had written and made decisions based on it.

If someone bought EA Play Pro after reading that information, I think it is completely understandable for them to feel misled when the wording is changed this close to launch.

The issue is not just that plans changed. It is that players were specifically told to rely on the official communication, and then that communication itself was changed after people had already acted on it.

That is why I really think EA should honor what was originally published this year. Otherwise, what are players supposed to trust next time EA tells them to wait for official information?

The interesting part is that the wording shown in the video is different from what appears on the article now.

At 3:11 in the video, the official page shows:

“EA Play Pro: EA Play Pro members can access a 10-hour trial beginning midnight NZST on 18 September.”

That wording is no longer there in the same form on the current version of the article.

So the video is useful because it shows what was publicly displayed on the official EA page before the wording was updated.

That’s really the main reason I brought this up in the first place: players were not imagining this information or getting it from an unofficial source — it was visible on EA’s own website, and the page was later changed.

After reading the pitch notes I bought EA play pro, because it clearly started that it started at Midnight NZST. How can you turn back on your own pitch notes, released so close to the actual launch. Crazy stuff.  

I thought it was gonna be like last year, but was told numerous times in THIS forum in other threads to WAIT until you communicated something. THEN the pitch notes that I was ASKED to wait for DROPPED, and now you turn back on that promise.

Agreed completely. I understand if not, but do you have the link to the article shown in the video? I'm interested in seeing if they've changed wording on that article or just removed that line completely.

I agree that the terms probably give EA the legal right to change or remove benefits, and that quote makes their position pretty clear.

But that still doesn’t really answer the trust issue.

There is a big difference between having the legal right to change something and handling that change fairly and transparently. If EA advertises a specific benefit through its own official channels and players reasonably rely on that information, then pointing to a clause saying benefits can be removed at any time may protect EA legally, but it does not make the communication acceptable.

That is exactly why I think reinstating the benefit would be the right move. Not because EA is forced to do it, but because honoring what was originally communicated would show respect for the players who saw that information and made plans around it.

If EA wants to change EA Play benefits in the future, that’s their decision. But those changes should be communicated clearly before people build expectations around them, not after the benefit has already been shown on official EA platforms.

Legal protection and player trust are two different things. My concern is the second one.

I absolutely agree that this is scummy from EA, and I do hope that they re-insert the benefits after seeing the backlash. Unfortunately, I don't really see it happening as EA are exactly the type of company to take up the legal strategy, and they do have this quote: "Content benefits are not guaranteed, and may be switched, added or removed at any time." on this website: https://www.ea.com/legal/ea-play-terms?isLocalized=true&setLocale=en-gb

Ultimately the best move from EA here would be to re-instate the benefits, but given they have legal protection, they won't.

So this is not based only on memory or the EA app. There is video evidence showing that this wording appeared on the official FC 27 page before it was changed.

I have a screenshot from a YouTube video recorded before the page was changed. In the video, the FC 27 Pitch Notes page clearly shows:

“EA Play Pro: EA Play Pro members can access a 10-hour trial beginning midnight NZST on 18 September.”

So unless I’m misunderstanding something, a 10-hour trial was displayed on the official FC 27 website/Pitch Notes at one point. The screenshot also shows the FC 27 navigation and the launch information around it, so this wasn’t simply wording I saw elsewhere and confused with the Pitch Notes.

I appreciate that the information may have been incorrect and later corrected, but that is exactly the concern I’m raising. Players saw information published through official EA channels, and it was later changed.

I’m happy to acknowledge that my original wording about standard EA Play may need correcting, because this screenshot specifically says EA Play Pro. But I don’t think it’s accurate to say that the Pitch Notes never showed a specific 10-hour trial when there is evidence of the page displaying exactly that.
