Bad ping

Subject: EA SPORTS FC 27 – Severe Ping Spikes and Online Gameplay Lag

Hello EA Support,

I am experiencing a serious connection problem in EA SPORTS FC 27 on PS5.

At the beginning of almost every online match, my ping spikes to 400–800 ms for around 20–30 seconds, causing severe lag and an unstable connection. The ping later settles at around 45–48 ms, but the gameplay still feels slightly delayed.

I use a fiber internet connection with WE in Egypt. I have already tried a wired LAN connection, changing DNS settings, restarting my router and PS5, and reconnecting the LAN cable. The issue persists.

Other online activities work normally, and the problem appears to be specific to FC 27.

Please investigate whether this issue is related to EA FC 27 servers, routing, or matchmaking in my region.

Thank you.

Here we go again with this nonsense about rebooting the router. This has been an ongoing issue for months. I used to play with 28ms latency—now I’ve forgotten what it’s like to play with such low lag. Another update, and once again, my ping is spiking! This is a problem with your **bleep** code, not our hardware!

A few things to try to reduce your ping...

    1. Use Ethernet rather than Wi-Fi.
    2. If Ethernet isn't possible, stay as close to the router as you can, and avoid weak-signal areas.
    3. Stop other network-heavy activity while playing, such as downloads, cloud backups, streaming. Check other devices on the network too.
    4. Restart the router/modem

Let us know if you see any improvement after these steps. Thanks. EA_Barry.
