Controller not working on certain game modes

So I just bought fc27 from steam, i connected my controller to my pc and everything seemed fine i could play division rivals and squad battles, but then i had to play moments and ones to watch and then my controller just didn’t work in game. I could use it in the menu, i could use it to pause the game, but not to play? I tried many different things like going to steam to see if there was a problem there, settings, looked up Youtube tutorials but nothing worked. Why?
