FC 27 PC – Micro-stutter only in Grounds mode on ROG Xbox Ally X
Platform: PC (Windows 11)
Device: ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X (AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, 24 GB LPDDR5X)
GPU driver is latest (July 2026)
Game installed on: internal NVMe SSD (~250 GB free)
Display: 1080p, borderless, vsync off
Issue:
While walking around in Grounds mode, I get constant micro-stutters / hitches. Regular clubs or fut matches run smoothly with no problems. FC 26 ran without any stutter on the same device and settings.
What I have tested (none of these removed the stutter):
- Graphics preset Low, all heavy options (hair, crowd, cloth etc.) at minimum
- Resolution 1280x720 with Render Scale 50% (640x360 internal). GPU usage drops to ~55-60% at ~600 MHz, so the GPU is not the bottleneck
- FPS capped at 60, 50 and even 30 (in-game limiter and AMD Radeon Chill each tested separately). The stutter is still there at 30 FPS
- Full 35W power mode with CPU Boost on; temperatures stay under 80°C (no thermal throttling)
- GPU memory allocation set to 6 GB, 8 GB and 10 GB (game uses ~3.5-4.2 GB)
- Fullscreen and borderless
- Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling on and off
- Performance overlay, sensor monitoring and background recording disabled
- Memory Integrity is off
- Three different internet connections
Observation:
Since the stutter appears only while moving through the Grounds area, and does not change with resolution or frame rate cap, it looks like a CPU-side issue such as asset/world streaming in Grounds. A desktop PC with a Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 2060 runs Grounds smoothly at medium settings, so this seems specific to power-limited handheld hardware like the ROG Xbox Ally X.
I can provide video recordings with the performance overlay if needed. Please let me know if there are any logs or additional information I can send.
Thank you.
