Freezing my pc

Thanks for the file. You do not seem to have an FC 27-specific issue. Some other troubleshooting steps that may help: 

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Then:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

2. When DISM finishes, run:

sfc /scannow

Restart the PC.

3. Check the filesystem:

chkdsk C: /scan

4. Go to Settings, Windows Update and try installing all outstanding updates again.

I have attached my DxDiag report as requested.

The issue is that FC 27 completely freezes my PC during gameplay or while loading shaders. The entire system becomes unresponsive, and I have to manually power off the PC. There is no specific error message shown when this happens.

My PC specifications are:

• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT
• RAM: 32GB Corsair
• OS: Windows 11
• PSU: Corsair 750W

Please check the attached DxDiag and let me know if you can identify anything that could be causing these complete system freezes.

Hi, I just came across your post and wanted to say that I’m having almost the exact same problem.

My PC is:

• i5-12600KF
• RX 6750 GRE 12GB
• 32GB RAM
• Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (Build 19045)
• 3440×1440 180Hz monitor

FC 27 usually starts normally and I can get into the game, but after around 2 minutes the whole PC completely freezes. The screen just stops, my keyboard and mouse stop responding, I can’t open Task Manager or do anything, and I have to force-restart the computer.

Sometimes I can get into the main menu first, and it seems to happen while I’m going through the settings or shortly afterwards. The timing is also strangely consistent — usually around 2 minutes after launching the game.

I’ve tried quite a few things already:

• AMD driver 24.8.1
• AMD driver 26.8.1
• DX11 launch option
• 60 FPS cap
• V-Sync
• Default/medium graphics settings
• Dynamic Resolution
• Resetting the FC 27 settings
• Disabling Steam Overlay
• Disabling AMD Overlay
• Closing MSI Afterburner / RTSS
• Closing background apps
• Disabling Resizable BAR
• I also made sure I wasn’t running the game at some crazy FPS or GPU load

Nothing has fixed it. It still eventually freezes the entire PC.

What’s really strange is that other demanding games work normally on my PC, including much heavier games. This seems to be something specifically related to FC 27.

I also checked Windows Reliability Monitor. I don’t see the usual GPU errors like LiveKernelEvent 141/117. It mainly just records that Windows wasn’t shut down properly because I have to force-restart the PC.

I’ve stopped doing more tests for now because every test means another complete system freeze and hard reboot.

The problem you described caught my attention because the behavior is extremely similar to what I’m experiencing. I’ve seen several other people reporting FC 27 completely freezing their PCs as well, so I’m wondering if these could all be related to the same underlying issue.

Hopefully EA can figure out what’s going on here.

If you find anything new or discover a workaround, please let me know. I’ll keep an eye on this thread too.
