Freezing when starting a match

Hello EA,

I am reporting a reproducible FC 27 PC crash/freeze that happens when starting a match.

System:

- Laptop: HP 15-fd0270LA

- CPU: Intel Core i7-1355U

- RAM: 16 GB DDR4

- GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics

- GPU driver: 32.0.101.7092

- Windows 11 64-bit

- BIOS: F.26

- DirectX: 12

Problem:

FC 27 launches normally and I can navigate through the main menu without problems.

However, when I start a normal match (Kick Off), the game reaches the loading screen before the match starts and then the entire display freezes. The mouse also stops responding and I have to force the laptop to shut down and restart it.

When launching the game executable directly, I also receive this error:

GetDeviceRemovedReason failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

"The GPU will not respond to more commands"

GPU: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics

Driver: 32.0.101.7092

Troubleshooting already tested:

- 1280x720 resolution

- 30 FPS cap

- V-Sync ON

- Dynamic Resolution ON

- Render Scale 50%

- Low graphics settings

- Medium graphics settings

- Hair realistic OFF

- 3D nets OFF

- Motion Blur OFF

- Future Gen Visuals OFF

- DX11 and DX12

- High Performance Windows power mode

- Latest Intel graphics driver for this GPU

- BIOS already updated to F.26

- Windows fully updated

The result is the same: the game freezes when starting a match.

Important comparison:

EA SPORTS FC 26 runs normally on this same laptop, while FC 27 consistently freezes at the beginning of a match.

I understand that Intel Iris Xe is below the official minimum GPU requirement for FC 27. However, this issue appears to be reproducible and is also being reported by other FC 27 users with Intel Iris Xe and the same DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error.

Could EA please confirm whether this is a known FC 27 compatibility/renderer issue with Intel Iris Xe and whether a game update, driver workaround, or other fix is planned?

I am attaching my DxDiag file and the screenshot of the error.

Thank you.

I have the same issue on an HP 15-fd0270LA with Intel Core i7-1355U, 16 GB RAM and Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

My driver is also 32.0.101.7092.

FC 27 freezes the entire laptop when starting a match and also reports DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG / GetDeviceRemovedReason.

FC 26 works normally on the same laptop.

I have attached my DxDiag to my own technical issue report.

    Same here to..

tried everything and the only thing my friends tell me is.. get a new pc or ps5.

think they are so rich they can get whatever they want.

and i can't and im going through this, ea has to fix this issue with intel xe graphics.

  • Hi, I am experiencing a very similar issue on FC 27 Lite for PC.

    My system:
    MEDION AKOYA E15413
    Intel Core i7-1255U
    Intel Iris Xe Graphics
    16 GB RAM
    Windows 11

FC 27 freezes/crashes during loading with:
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887A0006) – “The GPU will not respond to more commands”.

I tested three Intel graphics drivers:

    • 30.0.101.1298: FC 27 crashes with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, but Windows remains usable
    • 32.0.101.7088: the PC nearly completely freezes
    • 32.0.101.7092: the PC nearly completely freezes

I also tested 1280x720, 30 FPS, 50% render scale, all settings Low, fullscreen and borderless, Dynamic Resolution off, cleared EA/DirectX cache, repaired AntiCheat, automatic pagefile and closed background apps.

During the crash FC 27 reaches around 7–7.5 GB RAM usage and total system memory reaches about 93–97%. Crash dumps confirm 0x887A0006 / DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG.

FC 26 worked on the same PC.

It looks like there may be an FC 27 / Intel Iris Xe compatibility issue. Is EA investigating this?

Anyone having this issue playing FC 27?  (Intel ARC A750)

The game crashes right when starting a match. The rest of the time it works fine. After updating the driver from 9030 to 9033, I played one match and it started crashing when starting the second match. Didn't get any fixes or updates. My DX, VSC++ and GPU drivers are all up to date. Spiderman 2, AC Black Flag is running fine.

    Any solutions? Thanks in Advance!
