Latency / Data center Matchmatking

Hello,

I am experiencing a matchmaking/latency issue in EA SPORTS FC 27 on PlayStation 5.

I am located in Portugal and use DIGI fibre internet. My PS5 is connected directly to the router via Ethernet.

Normally, my matchmaking ping is around 14–15 ms, and rarely goes above 20 ms. Since recently, the ping shown in the matchmaking lobby has increased to around 26–30 ms, even when matchmaking with Portuguese or Spanish players.

The issue appears during matchmaking, before entering the match. My local connection is stable, and I have already reinstalled the game. I also performed a traceroute to an EA server and can provide the results if required.

Could you please check whether there has been any change to the EA game data center selection, matchmaking region, or routing/peering affecting players in Portugal?

I would like to know whether my account is being assigned to a different game data center or whether there is a known routing/latency issue affecting Portuguese players.
