Massive skill gap non realistic football my personal opinion

Now as many other people i have been playing FIFA for many years. I expect to lose matches I expect to come up against people that are better than and I expect other people to win.

the problem I’m having is that players mainly full backs wil run far behind the back 4 meaning 1 through ball over the top or through my 4 defenders and 2 CDMs is onside. Not only that but I understand the whole argument with AI defending. However with late player switching and switching to incorrect players and ekitike is running through my whole team whilst I have no other option to defend is semi annoying. I understand it’s the start of the game and there are no proper divisions right now but I just want a game where I can win or lose in the right way not down to bugs glitches metas (excluding tactics and formation)

also is there a way that EA can look into the tactics side of ultimateTeam as I have my forward as false 9 two ball playing defenders and two wingers on inside forward attack but they seem to either always be offside, too far back or not make any runs or allocate themself into useful.

I think there is a fundamental misunderstanding about what “skill gap” should mean in a football game. Mechanical skill should absolutely matter. Fast reactions, manual defending, dribbling and precise inputs should separate good players from bad players.
But those mechanics should be the execution of a good football decision, not a replacement for one.

The ideal skill gap should be:
Read the game → create an advantage tactically → execute it mechanically.
Recognise space. Manipulate the defensive shape. Create an overload. Draw a defender out. Then use your mechanical ability to exploit the advantage you created.

What we often get instead is:
Spam rapid inputs → force the opponent to react repeatedly → hope animations, responsiveness or connection make them react too late.

That is a mechanical skill gap, but it is not much of a football skill gap.

I do not want the game to remove manual skill. I want manual skill to matter more when it is combined with football intelligence. The best player should not simply be the player who can move the controller fastest. It should be the player who reads the game better and then has the mechanical ability to execute what they saw.
