Can’t buy FC mobile points, want to give a gift

I am trying to buy FC mobile points. I added my son to my Google family, I added the payment method and when tries in the FC point mobile to buy points, it says that he has to do it via Google family pay method, but it was setup, and the app does not send me a request or anything to approve.
