My sentiments exactly. This is BS.
I completed all but one task on my first try (within hours of the event dropping). I then claimed the 117 version and assumed (because the directions do not specify otherwise) that I could go back and complete the final task with my “Mastantuono.” Only NOW are they saying that I can’t go back and complete the final task (a free kick worth 1,000 gems in the final match) with a 117. I have to “re-purchase” the 111-version at a cost of 1,500 gems???
First off, the event does NOT specify it has to be a 111, so that’s on EA — not the users.
Second, if a “re-purchase” is being offered as a workaround then I shouldn’t have to pay MORE for it than the prizes I’d be able to claim with it.
This is Customer Service 101. If you code a buggy event then hold users harmless and keep us whole. Give me the 1,000 gems I’ve already earned (two times over at this point), and let me be on my way (or, at the very least, give everyone one FREE “re-purchase”). This is basic stuff. Why can’t EA just do the right thing when it makes an error instead of these half-measures that users unable to claim prizes they won fair and square?
