FC Mobile: Persistent Control and Input Responsiveness Issues

Dear EA SPORTS FC Mobile Development and Technical Support Teams,

I am writing to formally report persistent gameplay control and input responsiveness issues in FC Mobile. These problems significantly affect my ability to control my players during matches, particularly in Head-to-Head (H2H) gameplay.

I want to make one thing absolutely clear: this is not simply a complaint about losing matches, player ratings, or the difficulty of the game. It is a complaint about the reliability of the game's controls and whether my players consistently execute the actions I actually command.

I have experienced the following issues:

1. JOYSTICK FREEZES AND UNRESPONSIVE DIRECTIONAL CONTROLS

There are occasions when the on-screen joystick freezes or becomes unresponsive to my directional inputs. I attempt to move my players, but they do not respond as expected. In some instances, a player appears to continue running in a particular direction, such as to the right, despite my attempts to redirect the movement.

This prevents me from maintaining proper positioning, tracking opponents, closing down attackers, and moving defenders into appropriate positions.

In a competitive match, even a brief loss of directional control can have serious consequences.

2. DELAYED OR UNREGISTERED BUTTON INPUTS

I have experienced situations where I press buttons such as CLEAR, but my defenders fail to respond promptly or appear not to execute the requested action at all.

I may press the button repeatedly while the situation continues to deteriorate because the game does not respond as expected.

A clearance command is intended to allow a player to remove the ball from danger. When that command does not appear to register, the result can be a needless loss of possession or a conceded goal.

Players should not have to repeatedly press a control in the hope that the intended action will eventually register.

3. UNINTENDED SLIDING AND PLAYER ACTIONS

I have also experienced instances in which my players slide unexpectedly, even when I have not deliberately pressed the controls intended to initiate a sliding tackle.

These unintended actions can take defenders out of position, create gaps in the defence, and give opponents opportunities to score.

I understand that player animations and defensive mechanics are part of the game. However, there is a difference between an intended gameplay animation and an action that appears to occur without the corresponding user input.

I request that EA investigate whether these incidents are associated with unintended input registration, control issues, or other gameplay mechanics.

4. DELAYED PLAYER REACTIONS AND PROLONGED RECOVERY ANIMATIONS

Another concern is the apparent delay between issuing a command and seeing the player respond.

Players sometimes take too long to react, execute the intended action, or recover after sliding and return to their positions.

These prolonged reactions can leave players vulnerable while opponents continue attacking.

I have also observed what appear to be similar delayed reactions affecting opposing players during matches. While I cannot establish the technical cause, this raises the question of whether some of these issues may extend beyond my own device or controls.

5. INCONSISTENT DEFENSIVE CONTROL RESPONSIVENESS

My concerns extend beyond a single button or isolated incident. The combination of unresponsive directional controls, delayed clearance commands, unintended sliding, and slow player recovery makes defensive gameplay particularly frustrating.

Defending requires timely decisions and accurate execution. When the game does not appear to respond consistently to those decisions, it becomes difficult to distinguish between a genuine gameplay mistake and a possible technical or control-related failure.

I accept that opponents can outplay me and that my own decisions can lead to conceding goals. I am not asking EA to guarantee victories or make the game easier.

I am asking for the controls to respond reliably and for players to execute the actions commanded by the user, subject to the game's intended mechanics.

6. THE IMPACT ON THE H2H EXPERIENCE

These problems are especially concerning in H2H, where the timing of individual actions can determine the outcome of a match.

There is a fundamental difference between losing because an opponent makes better decisions and losing control of a player because a directional input or button press does not appear to register correctly.

When the controls become unreliable, the competitive experience suffers. Repeated incidents also undermine confidence in the gameplay system and create unnecessary frustration.

A competitive football game should reward skill, decision-making, positioning, and execution. Players should be able to trust that the controls will consistently register their intended inputs.

WHAT I AM REQUESTING FROM EA

I respectfully request that EA SPORTS FC Mobile's development and technical teams:

1. Investigate joystick freezes, missed directional inputs, and instances in which players continue moving in a direction despite attempts to redirect them.

2. Investigate delayed, missed, or unregistered button inputs, particularly defensive commands such as CLEAR.

3. Examine instances of unintended sliding and other player actions that appear to occur without the corresponding user input.

4. Investigate delayed player reactions and prolonged recovery animations that may prevent players from responding appropriately to commands.

5. Determine whether these issues are associated with particular devices, operating conditions, network conditions, gameplay modes, or other technical factors.

6. Test these symptoms under realistic H2H match conditions to establish whether they can be reproduced and identify their underlying causes.

7. Provide a substantive response explaining whether these issues are known, what steps are being taken to investigate them, and what information affected players can provide to assist the investigation.

I am not asking for a generic acknowledgement that feedback is appreciated. I am asking for these specific concerns to be documented, investigated, and escalated to the appropriate team responsible for gameplay controls and responsiveness.

I recognise that diagnosing technical issues requires investigation, and I am not claiming to know the precise cause of every incident. However, the recurring nature of these experiences warrants serious attention.

Please do not dismiss this report as ordinary dissatisfaction with match results. The central issue is the reliability of the controls and the relationship between user input and in-game actions.

I would appreciate a clear response addressing the reported symptoms rather than a generic troubleshooting message that does not engage with the specific problems described.

Thank you for your attention. I look forward to a substantive response.

Yours faithfully,

A concerned FC Mobile player
